Dash Goby

Ctenogobius saepepallens

Dash is similar to the Frillfin Goby, (but grows to less then half the size) because of the dark, vertical bar that runs down the eye onto the cheek. Unlike the Frillfin Goby, the bar does not cross over the head. The Dash Goby has 4-5 dash lines that run front to back on the  sides of the body. Sometimes seen in pairs. The inhabit sand flats and areas sandy sea grass beds, and areas of open sand. They will perch near a burrow or other cover. Uncommon.
