Milk Conch
Strombus costatusThe Milk Conch has a green head and long proboscis that it uses to find morsels of food. When disturbed, the eye stalks and proboscis is quickly retracted into it's shell. The eye stalks are greenish-white with a long, pointed, green tentacle on the bottom of the stalk. The shell is think and creamy white. Normal growth range 4-6 inches. Found in sandy sea grass bed areas or near rocky shorelines and reefs.
