Mustard Hill Coral
Porites astreoidesThe Mustard Hill Coral is very common and seems to tolerate the increasing stresses that other stoney corals have succummed to. The Mustard Hill Coral grows as a bumpy, rounded mass, may encrust, or may form plates. It has a soft, fuzzy appearance because the polyps are usually out during the day. Most often mustard yellow in color, but may be yellowish brown, olive, beige or gray. Can be found in both shallow and deep water.
